PDF to Text or Markdown
Get the text out of a PDF cleanly: broken lines are joined back into paragraphs, and in Markdown headings and lists are recognised.
About this tool
The tool reads the text of each page, puts it back in reading order and rebuilds paragraphs by joining lines and words split at the end of a line. In Markdown, larger text becomes headings and bullets become lists, ready for an editor, documentation or a writing assistant.
You can keep the original line breaks and separate the pages. The result can be copied in one click or downloaded as .txt or .md. If the PDF only contains scanned images, the tool points you to image conversion and OCR. Nothing is uploaded.
