Convert an Image to SVG

Turn a logo, an icon, a drawing or a simple photo into an SVG file that stays sharp at any size. Tune the threshold, colours and smoothing, then compare before and after.

Your image stays on your device: vectorising runs in your browser and nothing is uploaded.

About this tool

This tool converts a bitmap image (PNG, JPG, WebP, GIF or BMP) into a vector SVG drawing that you can enlarge without loss, edit in a drawing app, send to a printer or use for cutting and engraving. Three modes are available: black and white with a manual or automatic threshold, colours with a reduction to 2 to 16 shades where every colour can be changed, and outline only with an adjustable stroke.

Smoothing rounds jagged edges, simplification reduces the number of points, speckle removal wipes out small scanning specks, and the transparent background option drops the background colour. Colours are traced as stacked shapes, so no white gaps appear between them. The before/after slider, the overlay view, the path count and the file size help you find the right settings before downloading the SVG or an enlarged PNG.

  • Black and white, colour or outline modes
  • Editable palette from 2 to 16 colours
  • Smoothing, simplification and speckle removal
  • Transparent background in one click
  • Before/after slider and overlay view
  • SVG and PNG export with path count and file size

How to use it

  1. Drop your image or try one of the samples.
  2. Pick a mode: black and white, colours or outline only.
  3. Adjust the threshold or the number of colours, then smoothing and speckle removal while comparing before and after.
  4. Download the SVG, or a PNG at the size you need.
