About this tool

This image compressor cuts file size with advanced encoders that run right in your browser: optimised JPEG (MozJPEG), WebP, AVIF, optimised PNG (OxiPNG) with palette reduction and dithering, and JPEG XL. The before and after slider, synchronised zoom and side by side view let you compare the original with one setting, or two settings with each other, to find the best balance between sharpness and weight. The original size, the new size and the percentage saved update live.

You can also resize (fit within a box, exact size or percentage, with several resampling methods), rotate the image, strip EXIF metadata such as GPS location, and choose the background placed behind transparency for JPEG. Batch mode applies the same settings to many images, can hit a target size (for example under 200 KB) by adjusting quality automatically, and lets you download each file or a ZIP. Presets cover the web, social media, email, print and product pages. Nothing is uploaded: everything is computed on your device.
