About this tool

This vector halftone generator converts an image into thousands of shapes whose size follows the tones of the photo: circles, squares, hexagons, triangles, stars, lines or crosses, placed on a square, hexagonal, triangular or radial grid. You set the spacing, the angle, the channel being read (luminance, red, green, blue, transparency, cyan, magenta, yellow or black), the thresholds, gamma, blur, a sawtooth, triangle or wave repeat effect, and even a turbulence that makes the grid ripple.

Separation mode stacks up to four layers, each with its own channel, colour and angle, for a CMYK screen-print halftone, a riso look or an RGB screen; each layer can also be downloaded as a separate SVG inside a ZIP, ready for a film positive or a cutter. Designers, screen printers, shops and content creators get a vector file that stays sharp at any size, and everything is computed in your browser: the image is never uploaded.
