About this tool
This free currency converter calculates an amount in another currency using the daily reference rates published by the European Central Bank (ECB). It covers 30 currencies, including the euro, US dollar, British pound, Swiss franc, Japanese yen and Canadian dollar. It is handy for estimating a supplier price, checking an invoice in a foreign currency or planning a travel budget.
Enter the amount, choose the source and target currency, then click Convert. Along with the result you see the exchange rate used and its date, so you know exactly what the calculation is based on. The Swap currencies button converts in the other direction. These are indicative rates updated on business days, not real-time rates, and bank fees are not included.

How to use it

Frequently asked questions
Where do the exchange rates come from?
They are ECB reference rates, fetched through the public Frankfurter service (api.frankfurter.dev). They are published on business days, and the date of the rate used is shown under the result.
Why does my bank give a different amount?
The rates shown are indicative reference rates, not live market rates. Banks and payment services also add their own margins and fees, which are not included here.
What data is sent over the internet?
To get the rate, your browser sends the selected currency pair (for example EUR and USD) to the Frankfurter API. The amount you enter is not sent; the multiplication is done in your browser.
Is the currency converter free?
