About this tool
This free VAT calculator adds VAT to a net amount or removes VAT from a gross price, and shows the VAT amount itself. It is made for shop owners, restaurants, tradespeople and freelancers who write quotes, check invoices or set prices. On the English page, UK rates (20% and 5%) are preselected, and you can switch to eleven other European countries.
The countries include Ireland, France, Germany, Spain, Italy, Switzerland and more, and you can also type any custom rate. The "Reverse" button switches between net and gross, and "Copy result" copies the breakdown. The "Several lines" section adds up items with different rates and gives the VAT for each rate, the total excluding VAT and the total including VAT.
